Location. The Mark, New York is located in the Upper East Side of New York, N.Y. The 1926 Art Deco building sits on a street lined with handsome Gilded Age townhouses and mansions. Madison Avenue and Central Park are one half block away. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is four blocks from this New York City hotel and houses more than two million works of art. The hotel offers complimentary weekday shuttle service to Wall Street and the Theater District. Hotel Features. The hotel’s Mark’s Restaurant is an intimate space reminiscent of a London private dining club, and features French and American cuisine along with an extensive wine list. Situated adjacent to the mirrored and marbled lobby, Mark’s Bar is a popular English club like venue that offers cocktails, wine, hors d’oeuvres and light fare. A black marble spiral staircase leads from the lobby to the second floor, where guests find the glass roofed Greenhouse and meeting and banquet rooms for up to 300 guests. The hotel’s fitness center includes cardiovascular and weight training equipment, televisions, free weights and private saunas. Guestrooms. The Mark, New York houses 176 guestrooms with beds dressed in down duvets, Frette Italian linens and triple sheeting with sheets of 100 percent Belgian cotton. Original 18th century Piranesi architectural prints and marble accents reflect the hotel’s neoclassical English Italian style. Bathrooms include separate bathtubs and showers, oversized terry cloth bathrobes, slippers and Molton Brown toiletries. All guestrooms have high speed Internet access, four telephones, fax machines and complimentary newspapers. Umbrellas are provided. In room safes are included. Expert Tip.
